Power and AssociatesFor those in need of immediate medical attention, the board-certified physicians and support staff who manage our Emergency Department provide medical care with composure and compassion. Our team of physicians, nurses, technicians and specialists have been specially trained to care for patients who need care immediately.

The Emergency Department, located on Fifth Street near Caswell Road, cares for more than 27,000 patients each year. The Emergency Department is open around the clock to serve our patients and their families. In this 24-hour emergency care facility, a dedicated staff of residency-trained and board-certified emergency physician specialists attend to patients needing urgent care. Comprised of 12 rooms, including four minor treatment bays, and an observation unit, the Emergency Department provides general emergency care by performing life-saving and life-stabilizing procedures.

For three years in a row, our Emergency Department was recognized for service excellence under the J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Hospital Program.SM This distinction acknowledges a strong commitment by the hospital to "Outstanding Emergency Department Experience."

CMC-Mercy exceeds the national benchmark study score for overall emergency department satisfaction. Mercy performs well in providing patients with a comfortable experience, particularly with easing pain and doctors' concern for patient comfort during radiology procedures. In addition, CMC-Mercy performs well in overall speed and efficiency.
